Ben Sherman relaunches successful heritage campaign for SS21
Ben Sherman has relaunched its iconic It’s A Ben Sherman campaign for SS21.
Inspired by the brand’s founder and his heritage, Ben Sherman has delved into its 1963 archives to revolutionise its signature shirts, prints and more for a 21st century audience, marking a new era for the menswear brand.
In the early 1960s, Ben Sherman himself founded his namesake with functional Mod prints in bright colour palettes and striking new fabrications. Now, over 50 years on, his heritage is still going strong, and the brand has reinvigorated this original idea for a brand-new era in men’s dressing.
The new It’s A Ben Sherman collection for SS21 features the brand’s signature House, Oxford and Madras checked shirts, in both classic and modern fits, complete with nostalgic nods to the colourful palettes of the ‘60s.
Since 1963, the brand has been making shirts for every manner of subculture, age and class. What the founder was never fearful of doing was stepping outside of his comfort zone, and this paid off immensely.
By the 1970s, the brand had elicited repeat customers and compliments, and these only grew with a successful series of TV advertisements featuring the brand’s signature witty sense of humour and the lines: “That’s a nice shirt!” with a response of “It’s a Ben Sherman.”
This unforgettable catchphrase has been reintroduced for SS21, with the same vigour, authenticity and attention to detail that the brand appealed with over half a century ago.
